Installation Instructions

STOP AND READ BEFORE INSTALLING

If at any time during installation a discrepancy is discovered, STOP and contact your distributor before proceeding. Any deviation from this procedure will void any claims later filed.

Carefully examine all material to ensure correct pattern, color, quantity, and that all rolls are from the same lot number. Vinyl wallcoverings must be installed only under permanent lighting conditions. The temperature in the area should be maintained between 60–80°F with relative humidity at 50% or less, for at least six days before and after installation.

Surface Preparation

1. All surfaces must be smooth, clean, dry, and structurally sound. Newly plastered walls should have minimal lime or alkali and less than 4% residual moisture content (use a moisture meter to confirm).

2. Prime new walls (drywall/plaster) with a high-quality, adhesion-promoting acrylic or latex wallcovering primer. If moisture is present, apply an oil-based primer first to act as a barrier, then apply acrylic or latex over it. Do not hang vinyl directly on oil-based primer.

3. Perform an adhesion test to ensure primer and adhesive compatibility. Allow at least 14 days before removing test strips.

4. For existing walls: sand glossy surfaces, repair irregularities, and prime. To check paint soundness:

a) Score a shallow “X” in the paint and apply masking tape. If paint peels, it must be removed.
b) Hold a wet sponge on the surface for 15–20 seconds. If color transfers, remove the paint.
5. Completely remove any old wallcovering and residual adhesive. Rinse and dry the wall thoroughly. Prime as noted above.

6. For surfaces other than drywall/plaster, consult your distributor or manufacturer for special preparation techniques.

Application

1. Install rolls in numerical sequence, starting with roll #1. Number and hang each strip in order.

2. For random match patterns, reverse hang every other strip. After three strips, inspect for pattern acceptability. If unsatisfactory, re- hang strip #2 without reversing. Do not continue until approved. STOP installation and contact your distributor if issues are found.

Claims beyond three strips will not be accepted.
3. Seams may be table trimmed or double-cut on the wall for random match patterns, taking care not to score the drywall. For matched patterns, table trimming may be required.

4. Apply undiluted adhesive to the fabric backing using a pasting machine or short-nap roller. Use a quality pre-mixed adhesive suited to the wallcovering weight. Fold the sheet and allow proper booking time following adhesive manufacturer’s recommendations. Keep adhesive temperature between 65–78°F.

Hang each strip and smooth with a smoothing brush. Do not skip areas above doors, or above and below windows and piece them in later. Rather use strips cut in consecutive order from the roll. Stagger vertical seams by at least six inches from corners. Use a heat gun for rounding corners if needed, after testing to ensure wallcovering finish isn’t damaged. Be sure to clean excess adhesive from seems immediately after installation.

Warranty

Vinyl wallcovering is guaranteed to be free of defects in workmanship and materials for one year. We are not responsible for claims if these instructions are not followed or for labor and associated costs beyond replacement material
